About Kate

Meet Kate

Kathryn Roberts, LPC, is rooted in Bucks County. Before she became a therapist, she spent fifteen years working for the Bucks County court system. There, she saw how trauma can impact every part of a person's life, leading to substance abuse and hard times that weigh on families, their finances, and their children.

Kate earned her master's degree in counseling and psychology from Holy Family University. She also has extensive training in trauma and how to treat it. Her work with victims of crime, and as an intensive case manager for people living with serious mental illness, made her want to help people on a deeper, more personal level.

Kate keeps a small caseload on purpose. That way, every client gets her full attention, and she can stay present for her own three children. She is warm, down to earth, and grounded in proven, evidence based care. She gives clients real tools and a gentle push forward, not just a place to sit.

How Kate Helps

Ages 5 and up

Kids and Teens, Ages 5 and Up

Teens, and younger children especially, do not always have the words or understanding for what they feel inside. Kate meets each child at their level. She uses play therapy, art, and simple tools that help kids understand and manage their emotions. You stay involved every step of the way.

School stress, low self esteem, and all the ups and downs of growing up can feel like a lot. Kate helps your child sort it out and make sense of their world. She also works with parental alienation, school refusal, and the effects of being bullied at school. Whatever your child is going through, care is tailored to their needs and centered around your family.

Adults

Individual Therapy

Most people do not come to therapy with just one issue. Often it is a mix of symptoms to sort through and manage, all tangled up with stress and self doubt. Kate works with the whole person, not a single label or diagnosis. She helps adults find focus, steadier days, and a sense of themselves again.

Her approach is practical and evidence based, and it is built around your goals and your pace. You leave with real tools, not just a place to talk.

Partners

Couples

Every couple hits hard stretches. Using an attachment based approach, Kate helps partners see the patterns beneath the conflict, start talking to each other again, and reconnect.

Small groups

Groups and Workshops

Some of the most meaningful work happens alongside people who understand. Kate is building a set of groups and workshops, including teen social skills groups and groups for new moms. In these groups, connection and shared experience become part of healing.

Fees and FAQ

Questions people ask

What is sliding scale, and how does it work?

Sliding scale means your fee can be adjusted to fit what you can reasonably manage, so good therapy stays within reach. If cost is a concern, bring it up during your free consultation. Kate will talk through what works for you.

Do you take insurance?

Greenwood Counseling is out of network, so Kate does not bill insurance directly. To make it easier, she can give you a superbill and help you submit it. Many insurers will then pay you back for part of the cost. Sliding scale options are also available.

Can I use my HSA card?

Yes. Kate accepts HSA cards for therapy sessions.

Do you offer in-person and online sessions?

Yes, both. You can meet Kate at the Doylestown office, or online from anywhere in Pennsylvania, whichever fits your life.

Who does Kate work with?

Adults, couples, teens, and children ages five and up. If you are not sure your situation is a good fit, reach out and ask.

Do you prescribe medication?

Kate is a therapist, so she does not prescribe medication. Visits with a prescriber are often short, sometimes only 20 minutes. Kate helps fill the gaps by keeping communication open between you and your prescriber when needed. That way your care feels connected, and your therapy and medication work together, not against each other.

Is the office easy to get to?

Yes. Parking is free, the building is wheelchair accessible, and there is an elevator on site.
